Group Description
I sprint to nearby crates, cracking them open for scraps like circuits and polymers. No endless grind- each successful run snowballs your power. Scavenge low-threat areas and follow ARC patrols for easy kills in the early going. I run to adjacent crates and crack them open to find scraps like polymers and circuits. However, if you stuff yourself too much, you become machine bait and slow down to a crawl.
No permaloss-progression links to extracted mats that unlock traders, augments, or blueprints. If you have nothing when you respawn Speranza, take advantage of a free basic kit and raid light to rebuild. I learned patience from my first major setback, and now I’m conservative and love long sessions of stacking epics. Crawl inside, mash interact – game lets you clutch from DBNO. Death is painful, but it is lessened by clever play.
Extracts glow on your map: downward arrows signaling elevators, trains, or useful content shafts, each with a shutdown timer. Peak thrill is provided by standard evac points. Doors grind open; pull the inner lever and pile in. Hide behind crates or ledges while keeping an eye out for campers. The game allows you to clutch from DBNO as you crawl inside and mash interact. During a firefight, I once smoked the entrance to revive my fallen partner while wasps dive-bombed. After a few seconds, you’re on your way up with your loot. But, oh, the swarm: players shoot from roofs as ARC pours in.
The PvEvP design philosophy of ARC Raiders distinguishes it from its extraction shooter siblings. It is the coexistence of cooperation and betrayal. Sometimes, rival player squads become temporary allies when a massive mechanical behemoth appears on the horizon. Other times, opportunistic teams will wait for the machines to soften you up before swooping in for the kill. You’re not merely battling other players who are eager to get their hands on your hard-earned treasure. The threat posed by the ARC machines is ever-changing and creates an intriguing dynamic.
This nerve-racking formula was first introduced in games like Escape from Tarkov. ARC Raiders builds upon that framework by adding a significant amount of sci-fi spectacle and environmental narrative that is both recognizable and surprisingly fresh. Extraction shooters can be compared to high-stakes poker games where your chips represent the loot you’ve collected and leaving the table entails surviving long enough to extract.
I can only hope that this will be a cross-gen game, but given everything going on in the gaming industry at the moment, I’m positive it will be.
